I am very happy to tell you that in Bangladesh; laparoscopic procedures are being performed widely in most of the important disciplines where laparoscopes could be used for procedures namely general surgery, gynecology, urology and paediatric surgery. Despite resource constraints, we have been carrying out advanced laparoscopic procedures in some of our tertiary centers just like any other developed country. We have to strive further for quantitative as well as qualitative improvement.

 

I earnestly thank you for electing me your President for 2024-25. With your support and the utmost cooperation of the EC, I have worked tirelessly for last two years to take SELSB to new heights in becoming one of the most dynamic and academic bodies in the field of surgery in Bangladesh. This is a commendable success of the EC of 2024-25 and I congratulate all the members. 

Laparoscopic surgery is my passion, my life. I have been working to develop this unique field of surgery in Bangladesh for last 20 years. After getting your mandate as the President of SELSB, with my EC's help we have trained more than 600 surgeons in our own training center which we built in our own office complex. Thank you very much once again to give me the opportunity as your President for another term 2024-25 to serve our beloved Society in a more meaningful way. I, on behalf of my new EC wholeheartedly promise to keep up the good work and make you a proud member of this Society which has proudly got more than 1717 members. 

I expect continuous co-operation form all to help our society to reach higher and higher peaks.
